With no rain expected and UV levels reaching extreme, sun protection is essential, while fire danger is rated Extreme for the Mount Lofty Ranges and Moderate for metropolitan Adelaide.
Tomorrow, temperatures will reach 39 degrees. The sunshine will continue, with hot, dry conditions lingering across the city. Winds will shift throughout the day, but the heat will remain a major concern.
By Friday, Adelaide finally begins to cool, with the maximum dropping to 34 degrees. While still warm, the change will be noticeable compared to earlier in the week. Skies remain sunny, though the Bureau has flagged a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms elsewhere across the state, along with gusty winds ahead of a greater southerly change.
Saturday will feel dramatically cooler, with a cloudy day and a top of just 23 degrees after an overnight low of 15 degrees. Sunday sees skies begin to clear, with temperatures rebounding slightly to 26 degrees, with the sunshine returning.
Monday is forecast to reach 27 degrees under sunny skies, while Tuesday holds steady at around 26 degrees with partly cloudy conditions, rounding out a week that starts brutally hot before easing into more typical summer weather.
The broader outlook shows a trough and cold front moving across South Australia later this week, pushing extreme heat northward and allowing cooler air to settle over the south. Severe heatwave warnings remain active for much of the state, and fire weather warnings are in place across multiple districts.
