Adelaide weather forecast for Wednesday February 4th and the days ahead

Adelaide is settling into a run of classic summer weather, with sunshine dominating the forecast and daytime temperatures holding firmly in the low-to-mid 30s right through to early next week. Wednesday is shaping up as the most critical day from a safety perspective, with extreme fire danger declared for the Mount Lofty Ranges, while the metro area remains at moderate risk.

For the rest of Wednesday, Adelaide will reach a top of 32°C under clear skies, with very little chance of rain. Winds are light early before strengthening into the afternoon, shifting southwesterly at 15 to 25 km/h, then easing and turning south to southeasterly during the evening. Conditions are hot and dry.

Thursday brings similar conditions, with a minimum of 16°C and a maximum of 32°C. Skies will remain mostly sunny, with southeasterly winds picking up through the day and becoming fresh at times, particularly in the afternoon.

Friday continues the warming trend, with temperatures climbing to around 33°C after a mild overnight low of 14°C. Sunshine remains uninterrupted, and while winds may become gusty during the day, there is no meaningful rain expected. UV levels remain extreme, reinforcing the need for heat and sun safety as the week progresses.

Looking across the state, high pressure systems south of the Bight are maintaining stable ridge conditions over southern parts of South Australia until Saturday. Meanwhile, a trough across the north is driving isolated showers and thunderstorms in the pastoral and far northeast regions, where localised heavy falls are possible. Southern agricultural areas, including Adelaide and surrounding regions, are expected to remain largely dry, with temperatures staying above average inland and closer to average along the coast.

Into the weekend and early next week, Adelaide’s weather remains remarkably consistent. Daytime temperatures hover around 33°C on Saturday and Sunday, before easing slightly into the low 30s by Monday and Tuesday. Rain chances stay minimal, making it a settled but warm stretch of weather — ideal for planning ahead, but one that requires ongoing awareness around fire danger and sun exposure.
