Adelaide weather forecast for Tuesday February 3rd and the days ahead

Adelaide is in for a long stretch of classic summer conditions, with sunshine dominating the forecast and temperatures hovering in the low 30s right through to the start of next week. Tuesday is finishing warm and bright, topping out at 32°C under clear skies, with light winds shifting throughout the day. Fire danger is elevated, sitting at High for the Mount Lofty Ranges and Moderate for metropolitan Adelaide, while UV levels are expected to peak at Extreme, making sun protection essential from mid-morning through late afternoon.

The trend continues on Wednesday, with another sunny day and a maximum of 32°C. Winds will freshen at times, shifting from easterly to southwesterly through the day, offering little relief from the persistent warmth. UV remains extreme, reinforcing the need for hats, sunscreen and shade for anyone spending time outdoors.

Thursday brings more of the same, with mostly sunny conditions and temperatures again reaching 32°C. Winds will tend southeasterly to southwesterly, particularly through the afternoon, but overall conditions remain dry and stable across the metro area. UV levels stay at extreme, and the sustained run of hot days means heat stress can build even without a formal heatwave warning.

Across the rest of the week and into the weekend, Adelaide holds steady in a hot, settled pattern. Friday is forecast to reach 32°C under sunny skies, easing only slightly on Saturday with a top of 31°C before climbing again to 32°C on Sunday. Monday remains hot at around 31°C, extending the run of dry, summery conditions into the new week.

While Adelaide stays dry, northern parts of South Australia may see isolated showers and thunderstorms from midweek, particularly through the northeast pastoral districts. These storms may produce highly variable rainfall totals, with heavier localised falls possible in the far northeast, though little to no rain is expected for the metropolitan area.

High pressure systems south of the Bight are maintaining stable ridge conditions over southern parts of the state until Friday, keeping much of South Australia dry and warm. A lingering trough across the north is expected to deepen midweek, bringing isolated showers and thunderstorms to northern districts from Wednesday through Friday. Some storms in the far northeast may be severe, with the potential for heavier local rainfall totals, while southern agricultural areas and coastal regions may see temperatures closer to or slightly below average late in the week. Coastal winds may freshen at times, particularly along western and central coasts.

Warnings

Fire danger remains High in the Mount Lofty Ranges and Moderate across metropolitan Adelaide, while UV levels are forecast to peak at 12 (Extreme), with sun protection recommended from 9:20 am to 5:30 pm. A marine wind warning has been cancelled for the Upper West Coast.
