Adelaide weather forecast for Thursday March 26th and the days ahead

Adelaide can expect a mixed set of weather conditions today and over the weekend, with a broad trough over eastern SA and a cold front skimming the southeast that will furnish the region with occasional showers and potential thunderstorms through to Sunday, March 29.

Today, Adelaide will find themselves under partly cloudy skies with a medium chance of showers, predominantly occurring in the morning and early afternoon. With temperatures peaking at a cool 21°C, and robust southerly winds reaching speeds of 25 to 40 km/h, it’s a day to hold onto your hats!

As the weekend nudges closer, Friday will maintain the cloudy backdrop but with only a slight chance of showers around Adelaide’s hills and southern suburbs. Temperatures will continue to hover around 20°C with persistent southerly winds.

Saturday sees a partial reprieve from the clouds, promising a few more sunbeams, yet still keeping a slight possibility of rain about the hills and southern ends. A noticeable warming trend commences with a daytime high expected to push to 23°C.

The path to clearer skies becomes evident by Sunday, presenting a mostly sunny forecast and temperatures reaching a pleasant 25°C, ideal for any outdoor plans.

The start of the new week continues this sunny streak. Monday and Tuesday will bask in mostly sunny conditions with temperatures gradually climbing, reaching up to 30°C by Tuesday.

However, the weather takes a minor turn on Wednesday, April 1, with a forecast of partly cloudy skies and a medium chance of showers. Temperatures will dial down slightly to around 26°C.

Across the broader reaches of South Australia, the weather plays out with a bit more variety. Showers sprinkle over the agricultural regions and southern pastoral districts today with possible thunder rattling the Flinders and North East Pastoral districts. The weekend brings a dryer outlook, save for lingering showers on windward coasts and cooler temperatures dominating, especially in the northeast.

A Strong Wind Warning is in effect for today on Adelaide Metropolitan Waters with southerly winds expected to reach up to 30 knots. Mariners and coastal visitors are urged to proceed with caution.

Further north, flood alerts continue as elevated river levels at Warburton River and Cooper Creek pose ongoing threats due to upstream flows from Queensland. Residents and travellers are advised to monitor road conditions and heed local advisories.
