Plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures are on the way for South Australia, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Today, Adelaide will enjoy mostly sunny skies and a comfortable 32 degrees. Light winds and chances of low rain are on the cards, but fire danger remains high in the Mount Lofty Ranges and UV levels are extreme.
Tomorrow will see a sunny forecast and a top of 33 degrees. Overnight temperatures dip to a mild 14 degrees before warming quickly. Conditions stay dry locally, though thunderstorms are expected to develop elsewhere across the state later in the day.
Saturday is expected to be a warm one with temperatures peaking at 35 degrees as the cloud clears through the morning. While Adelaide itself looks set for a mostly dry day, isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast across parts of the pastoral and Flinders districts, with temperatures remaining above average inland.
Sunday brings a subtle shift, with partly cloudy skies and a maximum of 33 degrees. While the city should remain largely unaffected, widespread showers and thunderstorms are forecast further north, with the potential for heavy rainfall across pastoral areas. Some locations could see significant totals by the end of the weekend, while southern agricultural areas are likely to stay mostly dry.
Early next week delivers a welcome easing, with Monday’s sunny top sitting around a pleasant 31 degrees before temperatures nudge back up to 34 degrees on Tuesday under mostly sunny skies. By Wednesday, conditions cool slightly to a top of 29 degrees, with the chance of a shower.
Across the state, there’s a trough moving south, which is expected to deepen over the weekend and increase the likelihood of showers and potentially severe thunderstorms, particularly in northern and inland districts. Heavy rainfall is possible in parts of the state, though Adelaide is expected to dodge the worst of it.
