Adelaide is heading into a warm and mostly sunny end to the week, with temperatures climbing today and a top of 32 degrees forecast. According to the latest outlook from the Bureau of Meteorology, the city is set for a mix of sunshine and cloud over the coming days as a cooler change begins to move across South Australia.
Tomorrow, Friday 12 December, Adelaide residents can expect a warm morning with a low of 21 degrees before temperatures rise to 35 degrees under partly cloudy skies. While the heat isn’t expected to reach extreme levels in the metropolitan area, the city will still feel the impact of warmer northerly winds ahead of the approaching cool change.
That change will be more noticeable across the weekend. Saturday is shaping up to be a more comfortable day outdoors, with a minimum of 16 degrees and a maximum of 27 degrees and mostly sunny conditions. Sunday will cool further with a low of 13 degrees and a top of 23 degrees, bringing a pleasant end to the weekend with partly cloudy skies.
While Adelaide’s weather shifts downward in temperature, several warnings remain in place across the state. On Thursday, a strong wind warning has been issued for the Lower West Coast and Central Coast, with the earlier alert for the Upper West Coast now cancelled. The Bureau has also advised that the strong wind warning will extend to the Spencer Gulf on Friday, signalling continued gusty conditions over the water.
More significantly, a severe heatwave warning remains active for the North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral districts. These regions continue to endure very high temperatures, with maximums in the low to mid-forties and overnight minimums hovering in the mid to high twenties. The heatwave is expected to persist until Friday, prolonging challenging conditions for communities in the affected areas.
