Adelaide is set for some sunny weather before a midweek change brings cooler temperatures and the chance of showers across the city and much of South Australia.
Today, Adelaide will enjoy sunny conditions with temperatures climbing to 33 degrees. Southeasterly winds will freshen during the afternoon, but fire danger remains high in the Mount Lofty Ranges. UV levels are extreme, and sun protection is strongly recommended throughout the day.
Tomorrow will be another sunny day, with a maximum of 31 degrees following a cool overnight minimum of 16 degrees. Conditions remain dry and bright on Tuesday, with temperatures rising again to around 34 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
A change arrives on Wednesday as a cold front moves across the south of the state, bringing showers to Adelaide and the potential for one or two falls of rain. Daytime temperatures are expected to be around 31 degrees before cooling further on Thursday, when cloudy conditions and a much milder maximum of 24 degrees are forecast. Skies are expected to gradually clear on Friday, with temperatures recovering to the high twenties, before a return to sunny and warmer conditions on Saturday with a top of around 30 degrees.
Northern parts of the state are experiencing far more active conditions this week, with scattered showers and thunderstorms affecting the pastoral and Flinders districts, with the risk of severe storms producing heavy rainfall. Thunderstorm activity may continue across the far north into Monday and Tuesday, with significant rainfall totals possible in the North East Pastoral district, where isolated falls of more than 100 millimetres could occur by midweek.
