Adelaide weather forecast for Monday March 2nd and the days ahead

Adelaide is settling into a cooler, cloudier start to the week, with below-average temperatures lingering before a stretch of sunny 30-degree days returns just in time for the weekend.

For the rest of Monday, Adelaide is heading for a top of 25 degrees under cloudy skies. There’s just a slight 20 per cent chance of a shower, most likely this morning, with possible rainfall between 0 and 1mm. Southerly winds of 20 to 30 km/h will keep things feeling cool, and temperatures remain below average for early March.

Drivers in the Adelaide Hills are being urged to take care, with reduced visibility from fog and low cloud creating hazardous road conditions this morning. The SA Police advise slowing down, maintaining a safe distance and turning on headlights.

The UV Index is forecast to reach an extreme 11, with sun protection recommended between 9:40am and 5:10pm. Fire danger is rated Moderate in the Mount Lofty Ranges, while no rating applies for the Adelaide Metropolitan area.

Tuesday will see a partly cloudy day with a minimum of 15 degrees and a maximum of 25 degrees. There’s only a 5 per cent chance of rain, and south to southeasterly winds of 15 to 25 km/h will persist.

By Wednesday, conditions continue to improve. A mostly sunny day is forecast with a top of 27 degrees following a low of 14 degrees, and virtually no chance of rain. Southeasterly winds will tend southeast to southwesterly during the day before easing in the evening.

Looking ahead, Thursday will be sunny with a maximum of 28 degrees. Temperatures will climb into the weekend, reaching 30 degrees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday under mostly sunny to sunny skies.

Statewide, isolated showers and thunderstorms about the far east are expected to clear during Monday morning, with only light coastal showers lingering into Tuesday. From Wednesday onwards, conditions will be largely dry across the state, with cumulative rainfall totals to the end of Thursday mostly less than 3mm, except for up to 30mm in the far northeast.
