This week, leading up to the January long weekend, the weather is looking bright and sunny, with temperatures remaining high for most of today and into the weekend.
For the rest of Monday, Adelaide will be mostly sunny, with temperatures topping out around 30 degrees. Winds will shift from north to northeasterly early before swinging south to southwesterly at 25 to 35 km/h through the late morning and afternoon, bringing a noticeable cool change. Rain chances remain low at around 5 per cent, but conditions may feel gusty at times. Fire danger is rated High in the Mount Lofty Ranges, and UV levels are forecast to reach an extreme rating of 12, so sun protection is essential between 9:10 am and 5:30 pm.
Tuesday stays warm but slightly cooler, with a minimum of 15 degrees and a top of 30. Cloud will clear through the day, with only a slight chance of a light shower. Southerly to southwesterly winds at 20 to 30 km/h will keep temperatures in check, while UV levels again remain extreme during the middle of the day.
By Wednesday, conditions settle into a more comfortable summer pattern. Mostly sunny skies are expected, with temperatures reaching around 28 degrees following an overnight low of 17. Fresh south to southeasterly winds of 25 to 35 km/h will make it feel cooler, particularly along the coast.
Looking ahead, Thursday remains mild with cloud clearing and a top of around 27 degrees, before temperatures begin to climb again. Friday is forecast to reach 31 degrees under sunny skies, while Saturday brings a warmer and more humid feel, with partly cloudy conditions and a top of around 33 degrees. Sunday stays warm, with temperatures near 30 degrees and partly cloudy skies.
Strong wind warnings are in place today for the Spencer Gulf. Wind warnings for tomorrow will move to the Adelaide Metropolitan Waters, Upper West Coast, Central Coast, Spencer Gulf, Gulf St Vincent and Investigator Strait.
