Adelaide weather forecast for Monday January 12th and the days ahead

Adelaide is heading into a warmer summer pattern, with sunshine dominating the forecast and temperatures gradually building as the week progresses. While conditions remain largely dry, elevated fire danger ratings and extreme UV levels will continue to be key considerations across the coming days.

Today will remain sunny, with temperatures reaching around 29 degrees. Winds will start from the east to southeast before shifting west to southwesterly around midday, then strengthening again from the south to southeast during the afternoon. While rainfall is unlikely, UV levels are expected to reach extreme levels, so sun protection is essential if you’re spending time outdoors.

Tuesday brings a hotter day, with clear skies and a top of 31 degrees following a mild morning low of 13 degrees. Winds will remain southeasterly, easing later in the day, creating classic summer conditions. UV levels are forecast to remain extreme throughout daylight hours.

Wednesday stays warm and sunny, reaching around 30 degrees. Southerly winds will strengthen through the day, helping to slightly temper the heat, though UV exposure will again be very high. There is only a small chance of light showers, mainly near coastal areas.

By Thursday, temperatures ease slightly to around 27 degrees under partly cloudy skies, before warming again into Friday and the weekend. Friday is expected to reach 29 degrees with mostly sunny conditions, while Saturday and Sunday see a return to hotter weather, climbing to 33 and 34 degrees respectively.

Across South Australia, a high pressure ridge south of the state will continue to influence conditions, keeping most regions dry and settled. A weak trough moving west of the state may bring isolated light coastal showers midweek, though rainfall totals are expected to remain minimal.

Marine wind warnings remain in place for parts of the Upper South East Coast, with strong winds expected at times. Fire danger ratings remain elevated, particularly in the Mount Lofty Ranges, and authorities are reminding South Australians to remain vigilant during hot and windy conditions.
