The rest of today remains bright and settled with a top around 31°C and southeasterly winds, followed by a hotter Tuesday reaching 34°C under clear skies.
Conditions shift slightly midweek, with a shower or two possible Wednesday and a humid start before a southerly change moves through later in the day.
Thursday turns noticeably milder with partly cloudy skies and a top near 23°C, before a run of fine summer weather returns into the weekend, with sunshine and temperatures rebounding to the high 20s and low 30s through Friday to Sunday.
Across South Australia, a ridge of high pressure will keep much of the state settled early, while troughs and a cold front bring unsettled conditions to parts of the north and west midweek. Thunderstorms are expected about northern districts at times, with the potential for heavy rainfall, while southern coastal areas see only isolated light showers.
Showers extend more broadly on Wednesday as the front crosses, before clearing from agricultural areas early Thursday. Rainfall totals are expected to remain light across much of the south but increase significantly across northern districts, particularly the far north, where heavier falls are possible.
Warnings and hazards this week include severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall potential in northern parts of the state, particularly the far north and North East Pastoral district. Isolated light showers are possible about far southern coasts, with morning fog patches about the southeast.
Midweek, showers and thunderstorms may affect the north and west, while rainfall through Thursday is forecast across the agricultural area, West Coast district, southern parts of the pastoral and Flinders districts, northern parts, and the far north.
