Adelaide’s role in the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup is officially locked in, and for local fans, the countdown to tickets is now well and truly on.
It’s been confirmed that Adelaide Oval will host six pool matches when the 2027 Rugby World Cup lands in Australia, cementing the city’s place as a major stage in one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
Now, attention is turning to how fans can secure their seats. Official ticket presales will open on Tuesday 18 February at 11:30am, giving supporters who have already registered first access to matches before general sale begins.
To be eligible for the presale, fans must create and complete an official Rugby World Cup ticketing account by Monday 17 February. The process includes setting up an account, activating it via email, and validating profile details.
The confirmation of six matches is massive for Adelaide, and follows an incredible showing for 2025s British & Irish Lions tour. It was a match stopped the city for a blockbuster at Adelaide Oval. The highly anticipated fixture saw 43,124 fans pack the stadium to witness one of rugby’s most iconic teams in action. Perhaps it’s a preview of the atmosphere Adelaide will bring to the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
Across the tournament, 24 international teams will compete in 52 matches nationwide, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors and delivering major economic benefits to host cities.
For Adelaide, hosting multiple pool matches at Adelaide Oval means international teams, travelling fans and packed-out match days in the heart of the city, with flow-on benefits for hotels, restaurants, and bars. Bring it on!
