Three new cast members have been announced for the upcoming second season of Ace of the Diamond Act II. The second season will begin broadcasting in Japan in April 2026.
The three additional cast members joining the series include Shugo Nakamura as Koya Urabe (left), Atsushi Tamaru as Soichi Nagira (center), and Kento Hama as Koji Nara (right).

Hideaki Oba (Love of Kill, Kunon the Sorcerer Can See) is directing the new second season, with Kenji Konuta (returning) as series composer, Yasukazu Shoji (Restaurant to Another World 2) as character designer, and Hajime Hyakkoku (Ace of Diamond Act II Season 1) as music composer. OLM is in charge of the animation production.
A second season of Ace of the Diamond Act II was announced in May 2024. The first Ace of the Diamond anime (which contained two seasons) were Madhouse and Production I.G co-productions, while the first season of Ace of the Diamond Act II was only produced by Madhouse and released 52 episodes.
Mitsuyuki Masuhara directed all three seasons with Konuta as series composer. Minoru Ueta served as character designer on the previous seasons, but shared the credit with Satoshi Tasaki, who was the chief animation director for Ace of the Diamond and Ace of the Diamond -Second Season-, on the first season of Ace of the Diamond Act II.
The first season of Ace of the Diamond Act II aired from 2019 to 2020. That series itself was a follow-up to Ace of the Diamond and Ace of the Diamond -Second Season-. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the past seasons in select countries and territories worldwide.
Ryota Osaka voices the anime series’ main protagonist Eijun Sawamura.
The anime is based on Yuji Terajima’s Ace of the Diamond Act II manga, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from August 19, 2015 to October 26, 2022. A total of 34 tankobon volumes were released in Japan.
The original Ace of the Diamond (titled Daiya no Ace in Japanese) manga series was launched in Weekly Shonen Magazine on May 17, 2006 and ended on January 14, 2015. Forty-seven total tankobon volumes were published in Japan.

Kodansha USA licensed the first Ace of the Diamond manga series for English digital release. It describes the main synopsis as:
Eijun Sawamura had his heart set on the middle-school national baseball championships. But his team is eliminated thanks to a wild pitch thrown by Eijun himself. He’s planning to go to high school with his teammates and try again next year when he’s scouted by the famous Seido High School Baseball team. When he goes for a campus visit, he finds himself on the receiving end of a baptism by fire! His experience forming a battery with up-and-coming catcher Miyuki rekindles his passion for baseball!!
