CHANEL has announced A$AP Rocky as its newest House Ambassador, marking one of the first major appointments of the brand’s new era under artistic director Matthieu Blazy.
Known for his influence across music, film and fashion, Rocky has become a consistent presence in the luxury space. His career spans five albums, a growing list of film credits, and a reputation for bringing originality to everything he does. This mix of creativity and cross-disciplinary work is part of what makes him a natural fit for Blazy’s vision.
In a statement, Rocky shared his admiration for the house’s new direction. “Matthieu’s imagination is pushing fashion forward. His designs feel both sensitive and strong — grounded in reality but inviting you to wonder. I’m so excited to see him at CHANEL.”
Blazy returned the favour, describing Rocky as “an incredible artist who puts his heart and soul into every project he’s involved in” and someone who brings “kindness” and authenticity to his work. “We are thrilled to welcome him to CHANEL,” he said.
Rocky has already begun to appear within this new visual language. In late October, he was spotted in New York filming a CHANEL project alongside longtime house muse Margaret Qualley hinting at the kind of storytelling Blazy is building. We’ve now got a glimpse of exactly what that vision looks like, with the short film, directed by Michel Gondry, now here.
This pairing – a mix of established CHANEL identity and new energy – suggests we’re about to see Rocky play a more prominent role in campaigns to come.
For Rocky, this appointment caps off a milestone year. He has taken on new film roles (including If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and Highest 2 Lowest), received industry recognition, and continued growing his creative work across different mediums. Joining CHANEL adds another dimension to that trajectory.
For the House, it marks the beginning of a new chapter under Blazy’s creative direction —one defined by artists who shape the current moment rather than simply reflect it.
