A Slower Start To 2026 Free Agency

A Slower Start To 2026 Free Agency

Eagles

The Eagles weren’t a part of many big free agent signings, not that they were expected to. Battling limited cap space and not looking to commit too many years to large contracts with multiple franchise players hitting free agency across the next few seasons.

That being said, the Eagles have still made their splashes to start the offseason. With another year of signing 1-year prove it deals for players looking to cash in the following season works wonders for the Eagles to play the Comp Pick game.

With 4 picks granted for the upcoming draft the Eagles will once again be primed to receive multiple picks in the 2027 Draft as well.

New Faces

When the legal tampering period opened on March 9th, the Eagles remained quiet for a few days. And then they started making their moves.

Since the 11th, the Eagles have signed 9 external free agents, including:

  • TE Johnny Mundt
  • CB Tariq Woolen
  • OLB Arnold Ebitketie
  • CB Jonathan Jones
  • WR Hollywood Brown
  • RB Dameon Pierce
  • S J.T. Gray
  • TE Stone Smartt
  • WR Elijah Moore

Getting a starter in Woolen fresh off a Super Bowl championship provides the Eagles with a 1-year solution to CB2. While adding some depth to positions like RB and WR provides camp competition later in the offseason.

With a few months to go until the season truly begins. The Eagles still have plenty of time to add more free agents. The previous offseason 12 external free agents were signed. With names like L’Jarius Sneed, Kyle Dugger and Jimmie Ward available to fill in the opening Safety role on the roster.

You can never rule the Eagles out on who they might sign next.

Staying In House

With a handful of external signings out of the way, the Eagles made sure to keep a few of their own free agents in midnight green. Signing the following players to extensions during the month of March including:

  • S Marcus Epps
  • TE Dallas Goedert
  • P Braden Mann
  • TE Grant Calcaterra
  • OT Fred Johnson

And while he wasn’t a free agent quite yet, signed DT Jordan Davis to a monster 3-year, $78 Million deal.

With just under a month until the NFL draft in Pittsburgh. While the clock ticks down, are there any players you hope the Eagles sign before then?
