Nantucket might draw in millionaires to the island, but it also has residents or tourists walk away cash strapped.

Old South Diner, on Nantucket’s Old South Road, has sold its second $2 million lottery ticket this month, lottery officials announced.

The win marks the restaurant’s fifth lottery win of more than $1 million since March 2024, the commission said.

The diner will receive a $20,000 bonus for selling ticket, the Mass. State Lottery Commission said.

Some users on X are calling it the “luckiest place on earth.”

The string of luck started in March 2024, when someone won a $1 million prize on a “$4 Million Bonus Bucks” ticket that cost $10, the commission said.

The luck continued on that year with a win on June 10, 2024. A $2 million prize was won on a “Lifetime Millions” $50 ticket, lottery officials said.

Another person won $1 million on a $20 ticket in August, the commission said.

The first win of this month was on March 4, when a Nantucket resident cashed out a $2 million prize at the Lottery’s Dorchester location, lottery officials said. Then, on March 26, a $2 million Powerball prize was won on a ticket bought at the diner.

The Nantucket Current called the diner’s win streak “insane.”

The next Powerball drawing is on Saturday and is $166 million with a 75.2 million cash option.
