Karur stampede case: TVK chief Vijay leaves for Delhi to appear before CBI

Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay on Monday (January 12, 2026) left for Delhi by a chartered flight to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Karur stampede case.

The probe relates to a tragic stampede during a TVK public rally in Karur where 41 lives were lost. Mr. Vijay was accompanied by party office-bearers Aadhav Arjuna, Nirmal Kumar, and five others.

Mr. Vijay was summoned by the CBI for questioning on Monday.
