Expected Dates for Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr and and Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan Revealed

Astronomers in Pakistan have released their forecast for the likely dates of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Eid-ul-Adha in 2026, based on scientific calculations.

According to the details, the moon for Ramadan is expected to be visible on February 18, increasing the likelihood that 1st Ramadan will fall on February 19. Experts also predict that the Shawwal moon may be sighted on March 20, placing Eid-ul-Fitr on March 21.

Astronomers said the month of Dhul-Hijjah is likely to begin on May 17, while Eid-ul-Adha may occur on May 27 based on current astronomical data.

Meanwhile, the official list of public holidays for 2026 has also surfaced. Several religious holidays depend on moon sighting, which means slight changes in dates are possible.

The schedule indicates that Pakistan will observe around 17 public holidays in 2026. These include major national and religious occasions such as Kashmir Day, Eid-ul-Fitr, Pakistan Day, Labour Day, Eid-ul-Adha, Independence Day, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), Iqbal Day, Quaid-e-Azam Day, and Christmas.
