Former Pakistan cricketer Imad Wasim’s ex-wife, Sania Ashfaq, has broken her silence regarding their divorce, providing her side of the story after Imad announced their separation.
Sania took to Instagram to reveal that their marriage ended due to the involvement of a third party. She wrote,
I am writing this from a place of deep pain. My home has been broken, and my children have been left without their father. I am a mother of three, including a five-month-old infant who has yet to be held by his father. This is not a story I wished to share, but silence should never be mistaken for weakness.
She added, “I remained committed as a wife and mother and made sincere efforts to preserve our family. What ultimately ended this marriage was the involvement of a third party, whose intention was to marry my husband, and became the final blow to an already struggling union.”
Sania also spoke about the emotional distress she endured, including mistreatment and abandonment during her pregnancy, but said she stayed patient for the sake of her children and the family’s dignity. She mentioned that the divorce is legally disputed, and the truth will emerge through proper legal channels.
For context, Imad and Sania married in 2019 and share three children.
Imad Wasim had earlier confirmed their separation on Sunday, December 28, citing unresolved differences despite years of effort.
In his statement, he urged the public and media to respect the family’s privacy and refrain from sharing old photographs or spreading rumors. He also warned that legal action would be taken against malicious commentary regarding personal matters.
This is the first time Sania has publicly addressed the divorce, shedding light on her perspective amid the ongoing dispute.
