The Dark Moon: The Blood Altar anime has received a main trailer and a second key visual ahead of its January 9, 24 PM JST (effectively January 10 at 12 AM JST) premiere
It was also announced that the theme songs will be from K-pop group ENHYPEN, which was the inspiration for the original webcomic. The opening theme is a Japanese version of “One In A Billion,” a 2022 song created for the Dark Moon: The Blood Altar series. Meanwhile, there will be two ending songs: “CRIMINAL LOVE” and “Fatal Trouble.”
The Dark Moon: The Blood Altar comic began in 2022 and is part of Webtoon’s Super Casting project, “a new group of partnerships with global entertainment companies to create webcomics or web novels for each platform.” Webtoon describes the comic as such:
Welcome to Riverfield, where the most popular boys at two rival schools happen to be vampires and werewolves. When a mysterious new student, Sooha, transfers to Riverfield, the rivals find themselves inexplicably drawn to her. As horrible incidents start to shake the town, the boys’ forgotten pasts slowly start to unravel… and their world turns upside down.

Crunchyroll will stream the anime as part of its Winter 2026 lineup.
The HYBE entertainment company is credited as the webcomic’s creator. HYBE has produced similar works, some in the format of web novels, in collaboration with BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
Ize Press publishes the webcomic’s physical volumes in English.
