Japanese streaming platform ABEMA has announced Project PRISMation, an initiative that “aims to collaborate with the next generation of anime creators to produce entirely new and original anime works.”
The project will release its first works in January 2025 and “will continue beyond 2026, expanding its collaborations with diverse creators each year.” There are plans for public submissions “for original concepts and works from both Japan and abroad,” beginning around May 2026.
Project PRISMation’s first animations are from Thailand’s Zemyata; the animation collective Uguisu Kobo, which mainly features graduates of Musashino Art University’s Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences; and Vietnam-based duo rapitus. The first two have contributed pilot films, respectively titled Poppin-Play Kitchen and The Horrors’ Horror Home, while the latter is providing a video “inspired by” their previous Gluttomy short.
Poppin-Play Kitchen will premiere on January 16, 2026 on ABEMA and Project PRISMation’s social media platforms, followed by Gluttomy on January 23, 2026 and The Horrors’ Horror Home on January 30, 2026.
ABEMA is majority-owned by CyberAgent (55.2%), whose business areas include IP creation, internet advertising, and games. The press release says that the new project “reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to bringing new value to the anime industry under the philosophy that ‘great IP is born from creators’ passion and creativity.’”
This year, CyberAgent set up the animation studios Studio Kurm and CA Soa. The animation studio Cygames Pictures is a subsidiary of its consolidated subsidiary Cygames.
ABEMA began hosting the ABEMA Anime Festival offline event in 2024.
