Madhuri Dixit Nene stepped out in a black corset set by House of Masaba for a press event in New Jersey, styled by Sukriti Grover. The look plays with illusion at first glance, reading like a single evening dress before revealing itself as a carefully constructed ensemble built in layers.
The outfit centres on a strapless corset adorned with gold-embroidered palm motifs, fastened at the back with an adjustable dori finished with tassels. It is paired with a black draped skirt, secured along the side seam, that falls cleanly to just above the ankle. A coordinating sash, edged with gold tassels, carries foil-appliqué palm detailing with embroidered highlights, looping around the arms.
Gold jewellery adds warmth against the black base, with textured statement earrings and a stack of bangles keeping the palette tight. Her hair is worn in loose waves, parted softly and left to frame the face. Makeup stays evening-appropriate with smoky eyes with fine liner, softly flushed cheeks and muted rose lips, finished with defined brows.
From Vogue’s fashion desk:
“For Madhuri Dixit Nene’s striking black evening look, play up the Cleopatra-esque glam. Keep makeup intense around the eyes with a strong wing, add a touch of sheer highlight on cheekbones, and a nude lip. Let the outfit’s silhouette shine by choosing sleek, sculpted hair. Finish with strappy heels and a statement ring or bracelet,” says Vogue India fashion associate Divya Balakrishnan.
