Christmas Day has delivered a life-changing surprise for one incredibly lucky South Australian, with a mystery Adelaide player winning a staggering $20 million in last night’s Powerball draw — and they might not even know it yet.
The winning entry was the only division one ticket nationally in Powerball draw 1545, drawn on Thursday 25 December 2025. While celebrations were underway across the state, one resident or visitor unknowingly wrapped up the ultimate festive gift, instantly becoming a multi-millionaire.
The ticket was purchased at Colonnades Lotto Kiosk, at the Noarlunga Centre. Officials are now urging anyone who bought a Powerball ticket from the outlet to check their numbers as soon as possible.
It’s the equal biggest lottery prize to land in South Australia in 2025, and part of a year that has already seen hundreds of division one winners across the country.
Despite the massive win, the ticketholder hasn’t come forward. If the winner had been part of The Lott Members Club and registered their ticket to a player card or online account, they would have already been alerted to their good fortune. Instead, officials are waiting for the winner to discover the news the old-fashioned way — by checking their ticket.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said the winner may be completely unaware of the life-changing moment that passed them by on Christmas Day.
“Our elusive winner is likely oblivious to the fact they became a multi-millionaire on Christmas Day,” he said.
“We’re encouraging anyone who purchased a Powerball ticket from Colannades Lotto Kiosk to check their tickets today!
“Just imagine how exhilarating it would be to discover you won a prize of this magnitude on Christmas Day! Your plans for the New Year and beyond could be upgraded instantly!
“Make sure you check your tickets, and if you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the prize claim process.”
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1545 were 7, 23, 29, 20, 11, 16 and 17, with the all-important Powerball number also 17.
Across Australia, there was only one division one winning entry in the draw — the South Australian ticket. The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 419 so far in 2025, including 36 wins by SA Lotteries customers.
