A second trailer for the second season of the Medalist anime has been released, previewing the newly announced “Rookies” ending song by Conton Candy.
The anime is set to begin broadcasting on January 24 (effectively January 25 at 1:30 AM JST). Disney+ will stream the show.
Medalist is based on the Kodansha-published manga by Tsurumaikada, which began serialization in seinen magazine Monthly Afternoon in 2020 and has 13 volumes as of June 2025. Kodansha USA describes the source material as such:
Tsukasa, whose dreams were crushed. Inori, left to fend for herself. These two share a dream…and their tenacity may be the only thing that sees them through. Their destination? The ice…on the world’s stage!
The manga was the winner of the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho 2022 award in the comics category and the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award in the general category.
The anime’s first season aired during the Winter 2025 anime season.
