The official Twitter/X for the A Wild Last Boss Appeared! TV anime series announced that the show will be returning for a second season. A newly released announcement video confirmed the second season’s production. No further details were revealed, as of the time of writing.

The anime began airing on Japanese TV on October 4, 2025 and ran for 12 episodes. It was also streamed early every week on the ABEMA and U-NEXT services, starting from September 27, 2025.
Yuya Horiuchi (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Season 2 assistant director) directed the anime’s first season, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Flower and Asura) as series composer and Maiko Ebisawa (Love Live! Superstar!! Season 3 Episode 8 co-dance part animation director) as character designer. Takashi Kobayashi and Shota Ueno were credited as sub-character designers, while Wao World handled the animation production.

The isekai dark fantasy light novel series is written by Firehead and illustrated by YahaKo. It was first published by Earth Star Entertainment on February 15, 2016 and concluded on April 15, 2019. Nine total volumes were published in Japan. The original Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel began in October 2015 and ended in April 2019.
A manga adaptation by Tsubasa Hazuki was launched in June 2017. J-Novel Club publishes the light novel series and manga in English digitally.
