The Poupelle of Chimney Town ~Yakusoku no Tokeidai~ (Eiga Entotsumachi no Poupelle ~Yakusoku no Tokeidai~) anime movie has received a trailer and cast announcements.
The revealed names include MEGUMI as the cat Mofu, Fuka Koshiba as the plant (who takes on human form) Nagi, Mitsuo Yoshihara as clockmaker Gus, Shingo Fujimori as returning character Scoop, and Sairi Ito as returning character Antonio. Also announced were Anna Tsuchiya, Koichi Yamadera, Koji Higashino, the Nishikigoi duo, and Shotaro Morikubo.
Poupelle of Chimney Town ~Yakusoku no Tokeidai~ will premiere on March 27, 2026. It is the sequel to 2020’s Poupelle of Chimney Town. The plot this time, inspired by Poupelle creator Akihiro Nishino‘s picture book Tick Tock: Yakusoku no Tokeidai, sees returning protagonist Lubicchi entering a world that has exerted control over time, and where a mysterious clock tower stands with its hands at 11:59. To return home, Lubicchi has to get the clock to move again.
The original Poupelle of Chimney Town film was based on another Nishino picture book and saw Lubicchi meeting the titular character, who is made out of garbage. Mana Ashida voiced Lubicchi in the first film.
