New Sgt. Frog Movie Reveals Teaser Video and Visual

The new Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsou/Sgt. Keroro) anime movie has received a teaser video and teaser visual. The former provides a meatier look at the frog-like alien’s return and teases new invaders.

It was also revealed that the title of the film is Shingekijoban☆Keroro Gunso Fukatsushite Sokko Chikyu Metsubo no Kiki de arimasu!, and that the cast includes returning names like:

• Etsuko Kozakura as Tamama
• Joji Nakata as Giroro
• Takehito Koyasu as Kururu
• Takeshi Kusao as Dororo
• Chiwa Saito as Natsumi Hinata
• Akiko Hiramatsu as Aki Hinata

Kumiko Watanabe and Hoko Kuwashima were previously announced to be reprising the roles of Sergeant Keroro and Fuyuki Hinata, respectively.

The first Sgt. Frog anime series premiered in 2004 and ran for 358 episodes across multiple seasons. After ending in 2011, it was followed by the 24-episode Keroro in 2014. The anime is inspired by the KADOKAWA-published manga by Mine Yoshizaki, which began serialization in 1999 in Shonen Ace (there was a 1998 one-shot) and will get its 35th volume on December 26, 2025 in Japan. Viz Media describes the first volume of the manga as such:

After Sgt. Keroro blew his cover and lost his top-secret weapon, the frog-like alien has been cut off from the homeworld. To make matters worse, he’s lost communications with the rest of his platoon. Now he has taken cover in the Hinata family household, where in exchange for doing his share of the chores, he gets his own room from which to secretly devise new plans of world domination!

The announcement of a new Sgt. Frog anime project was made on April 1, 2024.
