If he hadn’t already before, Bob Odenkirk proved that he was more than capable as an action star with the film Nobody (2021). The actor of Better Call Saul fame fits perfectly into the role of average guy turned ass-kicking hero. And it looks like he’ll once again do just that in the trailer below for Normal, a new neo-western from director Ben Wheatley (Kill List) and writer Derek Kolstad (John Wick).
Odenkirk plays a sheriff who arrives at his post in the Minnesota town of Normal looking for a little peace and quiet. What’s supposed to be an un-eventful place becomes anything but when a botched bank robbery inadvertently exposes the town’s dark secrets.

I’m loving the Nobody meets Fargo vibes that I’m getting from this trailer. Bloody mayhem intertwined with the oddball humor of Minnesota niceties. I’m from the Midwest, so this sort of thing always tickles me. Once again, I think we can expect Odenkirk to deliver some pummeling justice on top of rip-roaring laughter.
The film also stars Henry Winkler (Scream) and Lena Headey (The Purge).
Head to Normal when it arrives in theaters on April 17th, 2026 from Magnolia Pictures.
