Following its reveal in September, the Rascal Does Not Dream of A Dear Friend anime movie has received a teaser visual and a fall 2026 release date.

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend (Seishun Butayaro wa Dear Friend no Yume o Minai)) is the latest movie in the Rascal Does Not Dream anime series and shares its title with the 15th and final main volume of the original light novel series. Yen Press describes the book’s synopsis as such:
“I’m glad I met you.”
Faced with the truth about Miori and Touko Kirishima, Sakuta must make a choice. This will be his final case of Adolescence Syndrome!
The Rascal Does Not Dream light novels is published under KADOKAWA’s Dengeki Bunko label and comes from the The Pet Girl of Sakurasou duo of Hajime Kamoshida (writer) and Keji Mizoguchi (illustrator). The premise sees protagonist Sakuta Azusagawa getting involved with people with supernatural problems, beginning with his high school senior Mai Sakurajima and her invisibility issue.
The first volume, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, was published in 2014, and a short story collection was released in July 2025. The anime began in 2018 with a TV series and was followed by a 2019 movie, two 2023 films, and a Summer 2025 TV anime.
