Cat’s Eye Unveils 2nd Half Key Visual, Trailer & New Cast Members

The official Twitter/X of the ongoing new Cat’s Eye anime series has unveiled a key visual, trailer, and two new cast members for the series’ second half. The first batch of episodes (from episodes 1-6) was streamed on Disney+ and Hulu (in the U.S.) from September 26, 2025 to October 31, 2025, while the second batch of episodes (episodes 7-12) will begin streaming from December 26, 2025, to January 30, 2026.

The two new cast members joining the anime series include Kenyu Horiuchi as Shin Kaibara (left) and Ryotaro Okiayu as Michael Heinz (right). 

They join the anime’s main voice cast, which stars: 

  • • Mikako Komatsu as Hitomi Kisugi
  • • Ami Koshimizu as Rui Kisugi
  • • Yumiri Hanamori as Ai Kisugi
  • • Takuya Sato as Toshio Utsumi
  • • Katsuyuki Konishi as Masato Kamiya
  • • Yoko Hikasa as Mitsuko Asatani

Yoshifumi Sueda (High School DxD HERO, Z/X Code reunion) is directing the anime series, with Hayashi Mori (SAND LAND) as scriptwriter, Yosuke Yabumoto (The Legendary Hero is Dead! character designer and co-chief animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia) as music composer. LIDENFILMS is in charge of the animation production. 

The anime adaptation is based on the manga by City Hunter creator Tsukasa Hojo. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from September 14, 1981 to October 15, 1984, and later received a special one-shot in 1985. Eighteen tankobon volumes were originally published in Japan under the Jump Comics imprint.  

The manga previously inspired two TV anime seasons, a 1997 live-action film adaptation, and crossovers with City Hunter and Lupin the 3rd.

Abrams ComicArts licensed the Cat’s Eye manga series for English release under its Kana imprint. It describes the main premise as: 

Café owners by day, art thieves by night, the three sisters Hitomi, Rui, and Ai have high-risk lives outside of their day jobs. Hitomi especially needs to keep her secret under wraps, since she’s dating Toshio — the police officer assigned to catch the Cat’s Eye thief!
