Artist and animator Chauyo Chubo recently released a fan animation for the Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam Ghost manga.
Done in the style of an opening animation sequence (KINEMA106‘s “ASTEROIDAL” serves as the accompanying song), Chubo’s creation delivers a buffet of 2D mech animation and more. Their YouTube description says that the video features a total of 2514 sheets of animation and took one year and two months to produce.
Clip Studio Paint and After Effects were used for the production.
The Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam Ghost manga ran from 2011 to 2016 in KADOKAWA’s Monthly Gundam Ace. It’s one of the titles in the Mobile Suit Crossbone manga series (still ongoing with the current Mobile Suit Gundam Crossbone Gundam Seeräuber), which began in 1994 as a sequel to the Mobile Suit Gundam F91 anime film (which features a faction called the Crossbone Vanguard).
Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam Ghost takes place in the year 0153 of the Universal Century and sees a boy from the Side 3 space colony cluster getting mixed up in a conflict involving something called the Angel Call. Yuichiro Hasegawa drew the manga. Hajime Yatate and Yoshiyuki Tomino are credited as the creators, while Hajime Katoki has a design cooperation credit.

Chubo has been creating fan animation for several years, with one of their earlier works envisioning a Fate/Grand Order and Tsukihime collaboration. They released an opening-style animation for Mobile Suit Crossbone in 2008.
