The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Sunday (December 07, 2025) reiterated its resolve to safeguard the sanctity of the Constitution and thwart all alleged attempts by the ruling NDA dispensation to tamper its sanctity.
Addressing a media conference at the party office here on Sunday, the party’s State secretary Gujjula Eswaraiah warned the Union government against making any move to remove the words ‘secular’ and ‘socialist’ from the Constitution, which he dubbed as an attempt to bring tension between regions, religions and various sections of the society.
He termed the attempts to table the bill in the Rajya Sabha as being aimed at destroying the social fabric of the country. The attempt is clearly against the interests of the nation’s unity and will deal a deathblow to progressive outlook. “We will certainly oppose such bills and will not allow any attempt to break the country,” Mr. Eswaraiah said.
