A second new teaser trailer has been released for the fifth chapter of the ongoing Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 series. Chapter five is titled Hakunetsu no Ginga Taisen and will begin screening theatrically in Japan on February 20, 2026.
In addition, the anime’s official Twitter/X account announced that the first volume of the series’ original soundtrack will also be released on February 20, 2026. The first volume’s jacket illustration is drawn by Kia Asamiya, who previously illustrated several visuals for the series.

Hakunetsu no Ginga Taisen is the fifth overall chapter for the Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 anime and will contain episodes 15-18. The overall series (also known in Japan as Yamato yo Towa ni: REBEL 3199) will have 26 total episodes split into seven chapters for theatrical screening in Japan.
The four previous chapters of Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 include Kuro no Shinryaku in July 2024, Sekijitsu no Shutsugeki in November 2024, Gunjo no Asteroid in April 2025, and Mizuiro no Sasha in October 2025.
Naomichi Yamato (Macross Delta: Zettai Live!!!!!! assistant director) is directing the new anime, with Harutoshi Fukui (Space Battleship Yamato 2205, Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202) as series composer, co-scriptwriter, and chief director. Studio Mother is handling the animation production, with Satelight providing production assistance.

Space Battleship Yamato 3199 is a sequel project to the Uchu Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi – Kosho -STASHA- film, which was released in Japan in February 2022. The remake anime series began with the 2012-2013 Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199.
The original Space Battleship Yamato TV series aired in Japan from 1974 to 1975 and inspired several sequel series and films, including the 1980’s Yamato yo Towa ni film. A new film project from Studio Khara was announced in October 2024 and was slated to start production tentatively this year.

Crunchyroll is streaming the series under the title Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 in select territories, with 14 episodes being released so far. It describes the main premise as:
In 2207, two years after Gamilas and Iscandar vanished, a colossal object, the “Grand Reverse” appears, effortlessly breaching Earth’s defenses.
