Emergency crews have raced to a home where a woman has been mauled to death by her own dog.
7NEWS understands she was attacked by her pet at a Whyalla Stuart address, northwest of Adelaide, in South Australia about 4pm on Thursday.
She suffered significant injuries and despite the best efforts of paramedics could not be saved.
It is unclear what breed of dog is involved or whether it has been seized.
