A short video clip from the recently released romantic film Neelofar, starring popular actors Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan, has gone viral online.
The trending clip features Mahira Khan’s character crying in a key emotional moment of the film. Viewers can clearly see her breaking down in tears, prompting a wave of humorous reactions on social media.
In Neelofar, Mahira Khan plays the role of a blind woman. While some viewers commented that the crying scene convincingly conveys the emotions of a visually impaired character, many others criticised her acting, claiming it failed to evoke genuine emotion.
A majority of commenters reacted with sarcasm, joking that the person crying in the video is actually Mahira Khan herself — regretting having bought a ticket for Neelofar and “wasting money.”
Some critics went further, dismissing her performance as weak and insisting that she lacks serious acting skills.
A number of viewers compared her to other acclaimed actresses such as Saba Qamar, Sanam Baloch, Momina Iqbal, and Sajal Aly, asserting that these actresses deliver far more convincing emotional performances.
Others even likened her crying to that of actress Hira Mani, saying Mahira appears to be crying “just like Hira does every day on social media.”
Neelofar was released last week but has reportedly struggled to capture audience interest. The film faced nearly a five-year delay, originally scheduled for release in 2020 but repeatedly postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
