Dates for Pakistan’s Test Tour of Australia Revealed

Pakistan is reportedly planning a three-match Test series in Australia as part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2027–29, according to multiple international media sources on Thursday.

The tentative schedule suggests the first Test will take place at Adelaide Oval, followed by the second at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), with the final match at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

While an official confirmation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket Australia (CA) is still awaited, several respected Australian journalists have corroborated the reports.

Earlier, Australia was scheduled to tour Pakistan for a white-ball series in two phases. The initial phase was to feature a three-match T20I series from January 30 to February 5, ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. The second phase was set to include a three-match ODI series from March 13–19.

However, sources indicate the ODI series may now be rescheduled, with PCB and CA in discussions to finalize new dates. The series is expected to take place after the conclusion of PSL Season 11, replacing the original March window listed in the Future Tours Programme.

Historically, Pakistan and Australia have met 72 times in Tests, with Australia winning 37 matches, Pakistan 15, and 20 ending in draws. Pakistan last toured Australia in 2024 for a red-ball series, where they were whitewashed 3–0, marking Shan Masood’s debut as Test captain.
