Ninja A-League and CommBank Matildas legend Michelle Heyman scored a goal and set up another as Canberra United celebrated their first win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Perth Glory.
Heyman put on a show for Canberra, who ended their winless start to 2025-26 on Saturday evening and recorded the club’s biggest triumph against Perth since a 7-2 rout in 2017.
Named in the Matildas squad set to face trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand in a two-game series, Heyman broke the deadlock in the third minute.
It was a fast start at McKellar Park, where Emma Robers doubled the lead just five minutes later.
Heyman turned provider in the second half. She teed up Bethany Gordon’s long-range strike in the 57th minute.
