Riyadh witnessed a thrilling display of athletic excellence as Pakistan’s star javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, successfully defended his gold medal at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games held at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Stadium.
Arshad secured the top podium spot with a commanding throw of 83.05 meters, proving his dominance despite it being below his personal and season bests.
The star athlete threw his farthest in the second attempt – an 83.05m effort, which consolidated his lead at the top, while he followed it up with 82.48m in the next attempt to assert his dominance.
Arshad threw a distance of 77.06m in his fourth attempt, while his fifth attempt was ruled out, and he concluded his campaign with a 77.98m effort.
His compatriot Muhammad Yasir added to Pakistan’s medal tally by clinching the silver with a throw of 76.04 meters, marking a proud 1-2 finish for Pakistan in men’s javelin.
This win adds to Arshad’s impressive record, including setting a Games record of 88.55 meters in 2022 and holding an Olympic record throw of 92.97 meters last year.
Alhamdulillah, grateful to bring home another gold for Pakistan! Still working hard to get back to 100% after surgery, but the hunger to win remains! More to come in the next tournaments, Insha’Allah! pic.twitter.com/oJPh5Jtg5d
