New England Patriots
Lan Larison was signed to New England’s 53-man roster to fill Henderson’s void.
After both were held out of practice multiple days this week, A.J. Brown and TreVeyon Henderson have now officially been ruled out of Week 8 vs. the Dolphins.
Henderson is battling an illness and was held out of practice all week. Brown started the week as a limited participant battling his ankle injury, before his knee issue reportedly flared up. He hasn’t practiced in any capacity since that report.
Those key injuries put the Patriots in a hairy situation in terms of their offensive weapons available Sunday. Drake Maye will have just four healthy receivers available to him: DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism, and Kyle Williams, along with practice squad elevation Ryan Miller.
He’ll also be down to Rhamondre Stevenson and Corey Kiner as the rostered running backs, although that also changed at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
New England elected to sign practice squad running back Lan Larison to the 53-man roster in lieu of a standard elevation Saturday.
Larison was a UDFA in 2025 who turned a few heads in training camp alongside Efton Chism. Unfortunately, he suffered a season-ending injury just prior to the end of last year’s training camp, derailing a potential season debut.
Larison has resided on New England’s practice squad ever since. If he plays any snaps on Sunday, they’ll be the first of his NFL career,
Ryan Miller, meanwhile, is a fourth-year receiver originally from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He floated around different teams over the last year before landing on the Patriots practice squad.
Each addition may be needed on Sunday, given the severe lack of depth plaguing New England currently. It should also be expected that Eli Raridon will play a significant role again vs. Miami.
The rookie tight end has been featured often in every game he’s been healthy for, and that was especially true in Week 7 against the Bears. Without many healthy receivers, Josh McDaniels has resorted to a heavy dose of two-tight end sets with Hunter Henry and Raridon both available as two of the stronger offensive options.
Patriots-Dolphins is set for 4:25 p.m. Sunday evening.
