(A previous tribute to the great man)
You’ve seen this happen times before
You’ve read the script, you know the score
You know it’s coming once again
From Heung-min Son to Harry Kane.
The ever-present threat is there
It’s peril to ignore this pair
A quick glance up – the pass is on
From Harry Kane to Heung-min Son.
From England and from South Korea
Respect for them then turns to fear
Their currency’s both joy and pain
That’s Heung-min Son and Harry Kane.
Their speed of thought when on the ball
Will breach the best defensive wall
It takes one pass – and then he’s gone
From Son to Kane or Kane to Son.
At stadia throughout these lands
On terraces and in the stands
Or home at Wembley or the Lane
It’s Kane to Son and Son to Kane.
So keep your Beckhams or George Best
Your Shearers, Owens and the rest
For me no brighter stars have shone
Than Harry Kane and Heung-min Son
