Madhuri Dixit Nene’s Rahul Mishra sari makes a case for wearing your flowers instead of buying them

Madhuri Dixit Nene’s sari collection is the only one to covet. Anyone with a curiosity and an active internet connection knows that the actor is an avid sari wearer and often chooses them for important personal and significant professional occasions, too. The actor, who is the newly anointed host of Kon Honar Crorepati, is dishing one sari look after another, giving netizens a new one everyday. Recently, for one of the episodes on the show, the actor turned to a floral sari from designer Rahul Mishra, which can enliven the dullest of surroundings with its XXL prints, vibrant colour palette and an array of embroidery techniques.

The fluid chiffon and soft tulle number makes you wonder—why buy a bouquet when you can dress like one. The oversized floral designs are printed all across a powder pink base, delicately embellished with sequins and beads to highlight the exquisite details on the flowers. The sari’s dainty details are carried into its border—a scalloped-hem design made with lace, featuring a running strip of cross stitch-inspired floral designs in multicolour bugle beads and sequins. The lace details continued into the sleeveless, baby pink blouse with a keyhole detail in the front.

Stylist Sukriti Grover ditched the obvious route of accessorising with contemporary diamond jewellery. Instead, she turned to modern-traditionalist kada and chandelier earring designs featuring coloured gemstones and polki. The use of multiple statement cocktail rings to add more colour into the look was a move that ultimately paid off, too.

The rosy theme reigned supreme in Dixit Nene’s makeup. Rosy cheeks dominated the look while pink lips brought the look together. This makeup is the perfect response for those who think that there’s such a thing as too much pink. The actor’s hair was parted in the middle in flowy, feminine waves that tied the look together.
