The Supreme Court has asked the Election Commission of India to clarify why voters who shifted address are being required to fill Form 6 during the Delhi Special Intensive Revision exercise. The court observed that the legal validity of logical discrepancies and whether there was human application of mind in voter deletions must be considered. A petition before the top court highlighted that Form 6 under the Representation of the People Act rules is prescribed for new voters, whereas around 47 lakh people were deleted out of nearly 1.45 crore pre-generated enumeration forms in Delhi, including many who shifted or were not found at their addresses.
