It seems that what defines matchups between Philadelphia and the Dallas is an incredible rushing performance. Thirty-three years ago — it was Emmitt Smith who gashed the Eagles at the Vet in a 23–10 Cowboys win on Halloween. The 2011 Eagles did beat the Cowboys 34–7 one day before Halloween in 2011. LeSean McCoy would rush for 185 yards and two scores.

This time — it was the Cowboys Javonte Williams rushing for 155 yards and a touchdown. Early in the contest — the story of this Eagles and Cowboys matchup was the trading of scores where ultimately the Eagles could not keep up.

Saquon returned with some big plays as the Eagles marched seventy yards on their opening drive including a eight-yard touchdown run to take a 7–3 lead early. Dallas then answered with an 82-yard drive including a 9-yard Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb score.

But the Eagles came right back on a 13-play drive covering 76 yards capped off by a 5-yard Damien Pierce touchdown run. The Cowboys would respond with eighty-one yards of their own and scored on a twenty-one George Pickens touchdown catch. Dallas came right back on the following possession and added field goal before half to go up 20–14.

The Eagles then took the lead again in the third quarter with an opening 89-yard drive that culmonated with a four-yard McKee to Makai Lemon touchdown pass. It was all Cowboys from there.

Dallas would respond with a 61-yard drive where Prescott found CeeDee Lamb again for a 16-yard touchdown and a Dak Prescott two-point conversion. After a McKee interception with 7:51 left in regulation — the Eagles then turned the ball over on downs with 4:24 left after failing to convert a 4th and 17. Javonte Williams finished the night by walking into the endzone with a 2-yard touchdown run.

Makai Lemon finished with sixty-seven yards and a score. Saquon Barkley had sixty-two yards on seven carries and a score. Dallas had 416 yards in total — Dak Prescott had 212 yards and three touchdowns in the air. Javonte Williams finished with 155 yards on 12 carries and a score against Vic Fangio’s defense.

Barkley left the game with the hamstring injury in the third quarter. Both Moro Ojomo and Damien Pierce were also injured.

The Eagles have now lost five in a row for the first time in a decade.
