HOME ECONOMICS
Shelter is a pretty simple want. Everybody needs a roof over their head. But housing in Australia is in a crisis unlike anything the country has ever experienced. And it seems everyone has a legitimate gripe about it.
From prices being too high for people looking to buy, to the market going backwards, making prices too low for those looking to sell. On top of that, not enough houses are being built, the rental market is in turmoil and interest rates just keep rising.
On 60 Minutes, Adam Hegarty searches for answers, as well as a much-needed explanation from the Reserve Bank about why Australia is in such a mess, and more importantly, why being so cruel now should mean kindness in the long term.
CHRISTIAN BELIEFS
Early on Monday morning, Australian time, 22 drivers will be hurtling at breakneck speed around a racetrack in Austin, Texas hoping to win the United States Formula One Grand Prix. But missing from the spectacle will be one of the sport’s most influential powerbrokers.

For 20 years Christian Horner had been the boss of the hugely successful Red Bull team, making his name as well-known as those of his fearless drivers; stars like Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel and Australians Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo.
But 15 months ago, Horner’s high-octane career came to a crashing halt. Faced with intrigue over his sacking, Christian Horner, who also just happens to be married to Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell, has stayed largely silent. Until now.
This episode of 60 Minutes airs tonight, Sunday 25th October, at 8:40pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
