“The top-ranked schools are all high-achieving and have succeeded at educating all their students.”
U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 elementary and middle school rankings are here.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School in Cambridge was ranked as the best public elementary school in Massachusetts, rising from fourth place last year, while Jonas Clarke Middle School in Lexington maintained its first-place ranking for the second year in a row.
Eliot K-8 Innovation School and Boston Latin School were the two Boston Public Schools to make it in the top 10 in their respective categories.
The rankings are made based on students’ performance on mathematics and reading/language arts state assessments, in the context of the schools’ socioeconomic characteristics.
“The top-ranked schools are all high-achieving and have succeeded at educating all their students,” the publication said in a release.
