On Monday, Oct. 19, the “Bodega Baddie” took over the concert series in style in skintight black leather pants and a matching power blazer with a “W.A.P.”-worthy updo. She took to Instagram to ask fans what her performance is giving: “Did you laugh? Did you cry? Vibe?”
As Cardi correctly guessed, the answer was “All of the above!” We’ve seen her shut down stadiums on her historic Little Miss Drama tour, but she brought something different for this intimate and iconic concert series.
Of course, the Grammy winner kicked things off with the ultimate pop out song, “Hello,” from her sophomore album, Am I the Drama? She followed up with another new turnt track, “Errtime.” Fans noted that she switched things up to shout out brown skin baddies Kelly Rowland and her sister, Hennessy Carolina.
Some fans speculated it was shade about Latto, who was named in the original chorus and rapped on the remix. Although it’s unclear where the two rap divas stand after leaked audio of Cardi saying Latto went too easy after Ice Spice’s disses.
However, Cardi has a reputation as a girls’ girl and tried to make peace with her “Put It On Da Floor (Remix) collaborator, who dissed the initial mea culpa on “Gimme Dat.” The mom of four apologized, noting that she was pregnant when she let her temper get the best of her and Latto was dealing with her first pregnancy when she heard the heated conversation. Despite the past drama, spreading the love to two other ladies isn’t automatically a sign of shade either. It doesn’t take long to see that the clapback queen still lets it be known when someone has beef with her “FOREVAH!”
Cardi slowed things down and showed off her softer side on “Man of Your Word” and “Be Careful” from her historic debut album, Invasion of Privacy. The emotional moment really showed off her range in the performance and writing on these heartfelt tracks about love and loss. The always outspoken star added, “You never loved me, f**k n***a” between songs to a burst of applause. Onto bigger and better, Bardi!
After sharing a bit of her heart and soul, Cardi joked that they needed to “change the vibes.” The energy was “Up” and stuck after that!
The set continued with her new constantly quoted hit, “AH HA” before Cardi ran it back to her breakout hit, “Bodak Yellow.”
For the finale, Cardi closed it out with her timeless bop “I Like It,” and we loved it! The crowd went wild as the live band went all out while she showed off some footwork.
Now, that’s how you shut it down!
Fans praised the growth that went into such a polished and flawless performance, solidifying her spot at the top of her game once again. Cardi undeniably ate every moment from start to finish.
