Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge on Monday said two individuals from West Bengal, allegedly in touch with suspected Pakistani agents and linked to Pakistani radicalisation mechanisms, had been identified, with the state government informing the Central Government about the matter.

Kharge said the state was working closely with the Internal Security Division (ISD) and the anti-terrorism team, while combing operations and surveillance of online activities were underway.

“Two suspects who were in touch with suspected Pakistani agents and were found to be part of Pakistani radicalisation mechanisms have been identified, and we have informed the Central Government,” Kharge said.

He added that the state was cooperating with central agencies and providing them with the assistance required for the investigation.

Kharge also said two people from Uttar Pradesh had been apprehended last month as part of the ongoing process. According to the minister, one person has been detained and another arrested, while further investigation is underway.
