Todd Monken and the Browns continue to pull off surprising wins, getting a 13-10 win over the Ravens to improve to 4-2 after six games.
Todd Monken and the Cleveland Browns continue to exceed expectations as they have achieved a feat the franchise hasn’t seen since 2014 following their 13-10 upset win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon.
Monken is going through the first season of his head coaching career with the Browns. He has surprised many by having Cleveland win three straight games and take over first place of the AFC North Division standings.
Even though the win streak ended after losing to the New York Jets, Cleveland got back on the win column. They took advantage of Lamar Jackson’s absence from Baltimore due to injury, having a strong defensive performance to secure the home win over their division rivals. This resulted in their best start to a season after six games, per insider Jordan Schultz.
“The #Browns are 4-2 and this is the latest in the season they’ve been in first place in 12 years 🐶🐶,” Schultz wrote.
How Browns played against Ravens
Todd Monken and the Browns look to continue proving doubters wrong, playing with house money as they escape with a tight win over the Ravens.
Baltimore had the upper hand at first, scoring the opening 10 points in the first quarter. Cleveland was scoreless for the first half, but the team came alive in the second half with 13 points while shutting down the Ravens’ attack.
Deshaun Watson didn’t have a performance to write home about, but he found ways to keep his teammates active. He completed 16 out of 26 passes for 164 yards while rushing eight times for 29 yards.
Audric Estime was the lone touchdown scorer, having nine rushes for 19 yards. Jerry Jeudy led receivers with four catches for 69 yards, while KC Concepcion caught four passes for 37 yards.
The Browns will look forward to their next matchup, being on the road. They take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 7 as kickoff commences on Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. ET.
