After ten summers of dancing in the sand, the team behind Adelaide’s iconic Lucky’s Beach Club is bringing the party into the heart of the CBD, unveiling a huge new summer destination complete with pickleball courts, outdoor DJs, riverside dining and lobster rolls.
Opening Friday, November 20, Lucky’s Club House will take over Festival Terrace and Balcony for seven weeks, transforming the space between the Festival Theatre and Adelaide Railway Station into a sprawling social club catering for up to 1,000 guests.
With sweeping views across the River Torrens and Adelaide Oval, the new venue will combine food, music, fitness and entertainment in one of the city’s most recognisable locations.
At the centre of the action will be two full-size pickleball courts, available for daytime bookings and casual games in the early evening. But as the sun sets, the nets will come down and the courts will transform into an outdoor dance floor.
Friday and Saturday nights will bring an open-air, Boiler Room-style DJ stage, with music kicking off from 5pm and continuing late into the evening.
“Lucky’s has always been about that feeling of summer in Adelaide – good drinks, good music and good people,” Event Director Luke Schapel said.
“Festival Terrace and Balcony is the most central spot in the city, and for a lot of the year, the space sits quiet. We want it to feel like Lucky’s Club House has always been there, from the very first night.”
Food will also play a major role in the new concept, with the menu curated by Sam Worrall-Thompson alongside the team from popular Adelaide restaurant EMBR.
Guests can expect a relaxed summer menu featuring lobster rolls, poke bowls, fresh salads and steak frites sandwiches.
One of the biggest drawcards will be a signature lobster roll made with South Australian seafood from Ferguson Seafood, available in limited numbers every Friday.
The venue won’t just be about its evening entertainment, with Wednesday to Saturday mornings dedicated to a more relaxed wellness offering.
Coffee, smoothies and lighter breakfast options will be available, alongside a weekly boot camp led by trainer Sam Stanton.
For those planning a bigger night out, private booths will be available across two sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings, with catering and Champagne upgrades on offer.
The venue will also accommodate corporate and private functions for up to 500 people, providing a new option for Christmas celebrations and end-of-year events in the CBD.
Adding a distinctly South Australian touch, staff will be dressed in custom pieces from local fashion label ORTC, while the wider project brings together brands including EMBR, Somewhen Wines, Mazi Wines, South Ave and Good Grooves.
Created in association with Adelaide Festival Centre, Lucky’s Club House will bring new life to an underused section of Festival Plaza throughout the summer season.
While the full entertainment program is still under wraps, further announcements, including the DJ line-up, are expected in the coming weeks.
