Police did not release the name of the 66-year-old Brockton driver.

Holbrook police identified and charged the driver involved in a September hit-and-run that injured a teenager on Tuesday.

A 66-year-old Brockton man, whose name has not been released, is charged with leaving the scene of personal injury, Holbrook police said.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, a 15-year-old was struck by a vehicle on North Shore Road while walking home from a nearby bus stop. The driver left the area after the crash, police said.

Through a review of surveillance footage from the area, detectives found a video of a charcoal-colored Chrysler minivan traveling in from the area of the crash around the same time, police said. Investigators later obtained footage of the car that included a partial license plate.

Using the partial plate number and vehicle description, Holbrook police used license plate reader cameras to identify the vehicle of a 2020 Chrysler Voyager and track its movement on the day of the crash, police said.

Police then located the vehicle, which had damage consistent with the crash, and identified its owner and operator, police said.

“The public played an important role in helping our detectives piece together what happened and ultimately identify the vehicle and driver,” Holbrook Police Chief David Del Papa said in a statement. “We received valuable surveillance footage and information from the community, and our detectives followed each lead and used every investigative resource available to them.”

The driver is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Nov. 4, police said.
